READER'S THEATER

"Do You Live In A Nest?"
This was a play in our reading book that is fun to do as a "reader's theater."  That means that we read our parts rather than memorized them.  We found many "props" in the room that helped us create the setting.  Then we wore headbands to designate our characters.  We performed it twice so that everyone had a turn!  We were WONDERFUL!  :-)

READ AND ROMP!

What a fun day Reading and Romping through Marshall!  Mrs. Carpenter selected Aesop's Fables for our stories and we had wonderful parent volunteers in each room to help with the fun games and activities!  Enjoy some of the candid shots of us below!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR. SEUSS!

We spent the week celebrating one of our very favorite authors, Theodore Seuss Giesel!
On Read Across America Day, we brought our favorite "pet" (stuffed animal) to school and spent time reading Dr. Seuss books to them!  We also had special Seuss themed worksheets and even wore silly socks on SILLY SOCK DAY!

OUR 100TH DAY OF SCHOOL!

The 100th Day of School was filled with many fun activities!
Some came wearing special clothes to celebrate the day!

We had fun counting, eating, and stringing 100 Fruit Loops to make our 100th Day necklaces!

Next, we shared our 100th Day projects with the other first grade classes.
We had some very creative projects!

We worked on our 100th Day books!

Our day concluded with a hunt for 100th Hershey's Kisses that were hidden around the room!  They were numbered on the bottom and we filled the 100's board with our rewards!  The different kinds formed a pattern and . . . the LAST Kiss to be found was #100!!!   THAT was quite a coincidence!

HAPPY 100th DAY everyone!  We are 100 days smarter!  :-)
