1A FINALE!

Our Last Day!
We went to the City Park with second grade to play games, have a picnic lunch, play on the newly painted equipment, and say goodbye to our amazing little Painted Lady butterflies!  What a wonderful way to end the year . . . releasing our butterflies to explore the big world on their own . . . and the students preparing to enter a brand new grade in the fall! :-)

PTA BRINGS EXPLORATION PLACE!

Our PTA brought Exploration Place to Marshall!  We had many different activities to observe and experiment with as we rotated in small groups around the gym.  Thank you to PTA for providing such a fun and educational experience!

FIELD TRIP

Last Friday we went to Wichita (in the RAIN) to see the Christian Youth Theater production of TARZAN!  It was presented at Isely Elementary School.  We had wonderful seats and the play was awesome!  Tarzan even swung on a rope!  Unfortunately, there are no pictures of the play, but we did get to eat our picnic lunches in the Isely science lab!  We were SO hungry that we didn't really care where we were!  It was still raining outside!

Next we visited Fire Station 37
The firefighters gave us a tour of the station, including their sleeping room, and we looked at the trucks and equipment.  They even have a boat for water rescues!  When we left we were given sticker badges, pencils, and a neat ruler!

Despite the rain, we had a wonderful field trip!

READER'S THEATER

"Do You Live In A Nest?"
This was a play in our reading book that is fun to do as a "reader's theater."  That means that we read our parts rather than memorized them.  We found many "props" in the room that helped us create the setting.  Then we wore headbands to designate our characters.  We performed it twice so that everyone had a turn!  We were WONDERFUL!  :-)

READ AND ROMP!

What a fun day Reading and Romping through Marshall!  Mrs. Carpenter selected Aesop's Fables for our stories and we had wonderful parent volunteers in each room to help with the fun games and activities!  Enjoy some of the candid shots of us below!
